Notes
There is a shortfall of one 11v11 3G FTP in Worcester, identified as being in the Worcester East Area (previous PPS analysis area).
Two potential site locations are identified to accommodate the pitch which are Nunnery Wood Sports Complex and Tudor Grange Academy. A feasibility study is required to determine which is the most appropriate site. At Nunnery Wood Sports Complex the project is for the potential conversion of the existing sand-dressed AGP (currently not used for hockey). Whilst Tudor Grange Academy would involve developing a new 3G FTP on existing playing fields.
Nunnery Wood FC (35 teams) is likely to be the main user of the pitch and is an England 3* Accredited Club. Nunnery Wood FC operates eight affiliated girls teams and it is expected that this potential project will bolster its ability to increase participation for women's and girls within the area by providing equal opportunities to facility access. The Club is currently the one of the main users at University of Worcester. If this project comes to fruition and the Club are realigned to the Worcester east area, a new main user group at the University would need to be identified.
Furthermore, its is recommended by the LFFP steering group that a Worcester city wide group is established to explore that 3G usage is equitable across existing facilities.
Subject to exploration of potentially feasible site options, there may be a need for the development of new or refurbished ancillary provision to support the development of a 3G FTP.
