Notes
The PPS identifies a shortfall of 0.5 3G FTP's in the Leamington, Whitnash and Bishop's Tachbrook area. There has been a growth of teams in the area and the steering group agreed a need for one 3G FTP specifically in the Leamington area.
The feasibility of the following site options should be explored to meet the need in the area:
North Leamington High School - Sand AGP conversion. England Hockey have been consulted and believe there is no current hockey clubs using the facility. This site is currently used by Lillington Juniors, a 3 star FA accredited club, and Norton Lindsey for training.
Leamington Rugby Club - The masterplan for the site is a long term project and the impact on other pitch sports is unclear at this stage, any proposed project would need to include community football use as well as rugby. The RFU expressed support for this project and highlighted the site has potential to be utilised by Old Leamingtonians RFC and Kenilworth RUFC. RFL have highlighted Leamington Royals RL are based at Leamington RFC and should be consulted on the development of any 3G project in this area.
Pavilion projects have also been included as part of the area wide projects as the site is unknown and may require additional services. However, this is subject to further feasibility and site identification meaning that a pavilion project may not be required.
