Notes
The FA has seen unprecedented growth over the last five years, particularly in the youth and women & girls game. Overall participation is estimated to grow year on year, equating to an additional 27 teams in the local authority by 2030, of which five will come from women and girls. This could represent the equivalent of at least one additional 11v11 3G FTP.
Allowances will be made for in the LFFP for ancillary provision for each pitch if needed, however this is subject to the final agreed location of any additional future provision and an assessment as to whether there are existing suitable facilities available. This is displayed as a future participation growth project below.
Further to the above, it is noted that the Council is preparing a new draft Local Plan and one notable proposal is for the development of 4000 dwellings on a site which sits between Oadby & Wigston and Harborough Distrct. The proposal is for land south of Gartree Road, near to Stretton Hall and Oadby.
The CFA has identified an existing need for a 3G FTP in Great Glen (Harborough District). This proposal, amongst others identified in the Local Plan may generate a higher demand for 3G pitches (and associated ancillary structures) over and above the identified future need of one 11v11 3G FTP. This scheme may be progressed after 2030 but should be monitored to ensure the needs of the new population are adequately provided for.
