Notes
There is a shortfall of two 11v11 3G FTPs in Newham.
Beckton District Park South is identified as a site which can deliver at least one 11v11 3G FTP. The site has an approved masterplan for wide-spread improvement which includes a PlayZone.
It is expected that the key user groups of the site, if developed, would be: East London University, Royal Falcons FC (England 2* Accredited) and One Touch Youth FC (England 1* Accredited).
The site also has an existing pavilion (The Will Thorne Pavilion) which has very limited sports use due to its poor quality. A proportion of the facility is being re-purposed for improved community facilities including community hall, accessible toilets and a café as part of the approved masterplan. The building will serve as a central hub for the network of local park users. The changing facilities and sports element of the site is not currently featured within the masterplan as a result of budgetary constraints. It is included within this plan to service the existing level of football on the site and the expected increases of football participation.
The site also accommodates for cricket and is being considered as a site which can provide a Playzone.
