Notes
The Steering Group agreed that there is a need for one pitch in the north of the Authority.
No site was identified with further feasibility work required. The two options which were put forward, along with the potential key clubs are as follows:
-Chantry School/Sport Martley Leisure Centre. Dual use site which is managed by Freedom Leisure on behalf of the Council . The School has £500k to contribute to the construction of a 3G FTP and the Council also has funding to develop wider improvements at the site. A pitch would support key clubs such as West Worcester Youth (18 teams, England * accredited) and Worcester United FC (17 teams, England * accredited). There is also scope for this to be a multi sport project potentially with Bromyard Rugby Club.
As well school and club use, Freedom Leisure could also facilitate other programmes; including walking football, vets football, holiday camps and recreational leisure leagues.
-Tenbury- no site identified. The town is located in the far north of the Authority, which will support Tenbury United Youth and Tenbury United FC (combined 21 teams, England ** accredited). There is also scope for this project to be a multi sport with Tenbury Rugby Club.
