Notes
Gorleston FC is a 36 team, England 2* Accredited Club, which has one senior team competing in the national league system. Following a number of years ground sharing with Great Yarmouth Town (step 5 NLS), there are plans for the Club to return to its original home of Gorleston Playing Fields through a phased approach. In addition, the Club is signing a lease agreement with the Council regarding site.
The Club is working with Norfolk FA to develop a pan disability offer, which will result in an England 3* accreditation.
Phase 1: return the whole Club to the site. For this to happen, investment is required in the grass pitches at the site. This will be achieve through a Grass Pitch Improvement fund.
Phase 2- Install a community stadia 3G pitch to support the Club. New changing provision will also be required as part of this.
Norwich City Foundation Trust has expressed an interest in managing the site, as this will allow the Foundation to deliver a number of community based programmes during the day- such as walking football. There is no daytime community 11v11 3G pitch available in the town currently.
