Notes
The LFFP steering group agreed a shortfall of two 11v11 3G FTPs in Darlington, of which one should be in the central area of the Authority. It identified two potential options for new 3G provision in the area.
- Darlington Railway Athletic Sports and Social Club: Darlington Railway Athletic FC* has 27 teams which includes junior girls teams. It is a self managed site and has one stadia adult pitch, three mini 7v7 and five mini 5v5 pitches. The site has been identified as a potentially suitable location for an 11v11 3G FTP to reduce the Authority wide shortfall and support the development of women and girls football. The club has submitted a FF application for the development of a PlayZone on a plot of land which would not be affected by a new 3G pitch. The site is also home to cricket, bowling and rifle shooting sections.
- Eastbourne Sports Complex: the site has two 11v11 3G FTPs and has the space to accommodate a third 11v11 3G FTP. Given the existing operational model and the space available, it has been identified by the steering group as an option for a third pitch to further develop the site as a football hub to service the wider Authority catchment.
