Notes
A new 11v11 size 3G FTP is required to service the demand within the Padiham, Hapton and West Burnley area. This is based upon recent consultation with relevant stakeholders and evidence within the 2022 PPS, in lieu of being unable to access the existing pitch at Shuttleworth College which is unavailable for community use.
Consultation with Burnley FC/Burnley FC in the Community also indicates a need for more accessible provision in the area, particularly within Padiham, in order to better engage with the local community and provide relevant outreach programmes and non-affiliated football activity.
Site options required further exploration and subject to feasiblity could include, but are not limited to:
Burnley High School - initial conversations have taken place with the School and Lancashire FA regarding potentially opening up the site for wider community access and wider required developments. This could potentially include opportunity to develop a 3G FTP.
Burnley FC/Burnley FC in the Community - although a site has not been determined, there is opportunity to work with key strategic partners to identify a site within the locality of Padiham, to provide an 11v11 3G FTP to both alleviate identified shortfalls for affiliated football and from which to base wider activity delivered by Burnley FC in the Community.
