Notes
There is a current shortfall of one 11v11 3G FTP in Boston. The LFFP steering group determined that further investigatory work is needed to establish which location in the authority should be progressed subject to feasibility work and available match funding. The potential site options identified are:
Boston United FC - The Club is working on plans to expand its site which will see the potential introduction of grass pitches, a 3G pitch and supporting ancillary facilities. The Club is one of the core providers of women and girls activity and has identified a need for additional capacity to grow this in this area. It further notes that its education programme has grown significantly and additional facilities to accommodate existing demand are essential.
Boston Grammar School - Lincolnshire FA identified the School has shown an historical interest in accommodating provision. This requires further site investigation and feasibility.
Thomas Middlecott Academy - The School is within the David Ross Education Trust which has historically worked with the Football Foundation and Lincolnshire FA to deliver provision. Further investigatory work is needed to establish if the site would be suitable to accommodate a pitch.
Boston Town FC - Boston Council identified that the Club has aspirations to grow its youth section and expand its women and girls offer. The Club is in discussions with the Council regarding the lease of land to expand its football offer. At present, the Club operates a limited number of teams and any development would require a robust partnership with other community clubs, if a project was to be progressed at this site.
Peter Paine Performance Centre - The site has an existing 11v11 AGP which is unused for hockey and could be explored for conversion to 3G.
A review of the supporting ancillary facilities at the chosen site will be required when a project is progressed. An allowance for this has been made within this plan.
