Notes
Affiliation data calculated there is a need for one 11v11 3G FTP in the Authority. No specific site was identified, with need required in both the north and south of the Authority.
South project- One option is for a 3G FTP in the South Normanton/Tibshelf area. There is currently no provision in the south. Clubs in the south of the Authority are restricted due to the lack of provision, with the nearest 3G pitch in Mansfield. All clubs would like to expand key sections, such as youth male and female.
No site was identified, however, possible options include; Broadmeadows Recreation Ground (2 x 11v11 grass pitches) or Tibshelf Park (2 x 11v11 grass pitches).
A 3G pitch in the south of the Authority would support a number of clubs, including; Tibshelf Community FC (12 teams, England ** Accredited), Pilsley Community (11 teams, England * Accredited), and South Normanton Athletic (6 team , England * Accredited), plus several rural clubs which have less than five teams.
Consultation with both the RFU and RFL state there is training demand in the north of Ashfield District (supporting Ashfield Rugby Club) and in Amber Valley (supporting North Midlands Knights RLFC). A WR22 and RFL compliant 3G FTP in the south of Bolsover would address this shortfall should a project be developed.
North project- The steering group agreed there was a need for a pitch in the north/central area, to support the current 3G FTP at The ARC Leisure Centre. The current pitch is at capacity with teams such as Barlborough Juniors (12 teams, England ** Accredited) and Clowne Comets Junior Football Club (10 teams, England * Accredited) along with clubs from Chesterfield.
No site for a 3G FTP was identified by the steering group, however, possible options include: Bolsover Town FC (stadia pitch) or Oxcroft Miners Welfare Site.
Several clubs from the north of the Authority struggle to access a 3G surface and consequently, resort to using facilities in Sheffield. A pitch in the mid/northern area would support the following clubs; Bolsover Town Juniors (22 teams, England ** Accredited), Shirebrook Rangers (18 teams, England ** Accredited) and Glapwell FC (8 teams, England * Accredited) .
